My Secret Flowers—Garden & House by Ryue Nishizawa

Garden & House is a four-story house on a small 8m x 4m site sandwiched between buildings over 30m high. There are no walls on each floor, and slabs are stacked vertically, with private rooms and gardens, and the gardens are full of greenery.

Designed by Ryue Nishizawa, this house is a little Tokyo landmark that visitors from all over the world visit every day even after the completion in 2011.

Immediately after completion, the owner used this building to hold a private exhibition “My Secret Flowers” in which four artists participated. Ceramic artist Koichi Uchida, photographer Risaku Suzuki, contemporary artists Teppei Kaneuji and Satoshi Hirose performed an installation using their own floor on the theme of ” house and garden.”

This book is not only an exhibition catalog but also a collection of architectural photographs by photographer Risaku Suzuki. Also included is an essay by Ryue Nishizawa.

In addition to the regular version, a limited edition (limited to 30 copies) with an original print by Risaku Suzuki will be published at the same time.
